Another Off the Wall Recomendation

I am aware that this is a stretch for what I'm doing here, but there you go.

I recently listened to "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley. I picked up mine through Itunes. You can use the link in the upper right to get Itunes fired up and at the store. (Yes, that is a hint.) While it is most certainly out-of-date it has illustrations of things we need to watch out for as our world changes. On top of which it is entertaining.

When you combine that book with the Mike Wallace interviews it adds another dimension.

Recommendations

With the political season rolling on I want to recommend a political/talk podcast Called Common Sense. This is the itunes link for the show. Dan is not your normal fellow. He really is usually taking the third position on most issues. I do have to say that I don't always agree with him, but he does encourage thinking.

My second recommendation for this week is "Forgotten Classics". She is doing readings of older obscure written works. The itunes link for this one is here. Now, I nee to be honest here, in an earlier podcast she did a short review of the Mark's Mysteries podcast and she gave me a good review. She did wonder where I was going with these stories and I still don't have an answer for that. *sigh*

Something Different

I have been turning to podcasts for entertainment rather than the traditional TV type media. The variety and quality of podcasts vary wildly, but I rate them on the news/information and entertainment values. This week I have found something different to let you in on.

I am always looking for "background" information for my podcasts from our own worlds history. I have been poking around looking at Archeological podcasts recently.

The Archeology Channel has a podcast that you can find at apples itunes. They also have a website with information. There podcasts are short, informative and not hard on the ears. Well worth listening to.

Since I can't keep up I'll start Passing on my favorites.

I am having a lot of trouble breaking out the time to do my podcasts. To compensate I will share with you some of the podcasts that I enjoy. These will be a wide ranging selection as podcasts have become my background noise as I work.

With politics on our minds I would like to point out a Podcast called Common Sense by Dan Carlin. He is one of those people who really does not think any of the people in power have really got things figured out. He is opinionated, radical and manages to anger just about everyone at one time or another.

Just three more weeks of insanity

I have just two more conventions to do for this summer season. StormCon and GenCon. As soon as I am through these I will have time to get to work on Mark's Mysteries Season Two podcast.

New Set Up

I am switching to recording with a Tower and updating software and equipment. So there is a break her. *sigh*

Having a series of conventions to deal with in the near future also has an effect. Susan is heading to San Diego Comic Con to sell art, then we have StormCon and GenCon. Three weeks in a row and we have to get the prep done for them all at once. At least I like my life, even when it is busy.

I really wish I could dig out more time to work on these podcasts. I have a lot of fun and I am working on more, really, I am.
