Prep for Season Two has begun
I have started work on the second season of Mark's Mysteries. The rough draft for the first story is progressing slowly. It appears that I am getting 4-5 minutes done in two hours. Maybe as I get back into the swing it will get faster. Right now I have 9 whole minutes roughed.
I have spent a good deal of time studying the stories that I am enjoying and working on settling into a "style" I enjoy doing.
I am still doing these with stories straight from my head to the microphone. My attempts a writing them do not turn out well for me. Just a style thing.
Well, that is it for this update.

Grandilar Game Podcast 14 Released
Grandilar Game Podcast #14. MarCon Update. Released 05/25/2009
Hosted, written and edited by Mark Ellis Harmon.
Sponsored by Art by Susan Van Camp.
The card submission page Link.
The Grandilar Game Podcast Webpage.
In this episode, we cover the MarCon convention and the new sets news. Basically this is one of our "update" podcasts just to keep you folks informed of what is happening here at the chaotic clanhold.
Rather than write an article on these legends and stories I prefer to use the modern equivelent of the bards of Grandilar. So, take a seat, light up a pipe, sip a beer, and listen to the story by going to our Libsyn Episode Feedand hearing it for yourself. Of course, you can also sign up for the podcast in Itunes and have the bard come to you. Either way works just fine.
And if you like what you heard, you can come back here and put something in the bards hat. I'm sure he will use it wisely, really, I'm sure. The button below is set to take a $1.00 donation.

New Web Page
I put up a new, shorter Mark's Mysteries Web Page. The point of the page is to tell something about what I am doing and get people to download the podcasts. So, that is all it is doing.

Forgotten Classics
Forgotten Classics is a podcast where you can find some of the more obscure works from the past. To be perfectly honest not all of the stories here interest me, but the Agatha Christie Tuppence story is both good and interesting. If you are looking for some good old fashioned stories not found elsewhere, you should check out the Forgotten Classics podcast.
The Itunes Link is here.
The Forgotten Classics website is here
And one more piece of disclosure should be added. My own Mark's Mysteries Podcast was reviewed, generally positively, in an earlier Forgotten Classics episode.

MM00-11 The Screamer Part 2 is up
I know it has been way too long in showing up. *sigh* The best laid plans etc. etc. Anyway, it is here. Susan did some new artwork for this episode, and I rather like it.
I will, of course, be working on the next episode. So off to it.

MM00-10 The Screamer Part 1

Here it is, April 1st and we have the 10th Mark's Mysteries Podcast.
This episode Jason hears a scream in his sleep that starts an adventure that covers two Podcasts. We get a tour of Spirit World travel and the information that there is more to the city than meets the eye.
I have started looking for Mysterious Minions to spread my podcast. There will be more information in the podcast and in the future. The image above is the final for the Tee Shirt. There will be a pre-order price on the webpage in the near future.
I'm looking forward to any comments you leave.

Ten is working and website updated.
I got the Mark's Mysteries website updated. Go take a look.
I have episode 10 in the "can", but since it is a 2 parter I want 11 done before I post 10. Actually the audio for 11 is done and it is off visiting with the Mark's Mysteries Orchestra....
So, we should have a new episode for you early next week!

MM00-09 A Chance Meeting

Pouring From the mind of Mark Ellis Harmon comes Mark's Mysteries episode 9. A Chance Meeting. Art for this episode was provided by Susan Van Camp and the sound work came from Greg Tribble. This episode is copyright 2008 Mark Ellis Harmon.
And here it is. We have Jason in a story where the Hag (Jerican) from episode 6 puts in an appearance along with Galan, who we have seen a few times before. Galan is showing his mercenary side again. This time he is with the hag. We also have some good coffee in this one! Enjoy. As always comments are welcome. Plus you can e-mail me at mark@marksmysteries if you want.

New page, new podcast
I have caught up the website to have all of the episodes so far on it. I'm trying to keep up, really.
I have a new podcast story done. I have sent it off with Greg to have work done on the music and effects. I think it should be back in a few days. It turned out nice, I'm reasonably happy with it. Susan is doing a new poece of art for me to put on this one.
We have some other things in the works, but I'll put that at the end of the podcast.

New Episode Posted: 00-07

OK, I know. I said in episode six that that was the end of the beta season, but, well, I'm not ready with the next season. These teasers and info podcasts will be attached to the beta season until I get the next season rolling.
This episode is something different. The teaser actually comes from a project in development that will follow the Jason series. I want to let you listeners know that Mark's Mysteries will have a wider variety than what you have seen up to now.
I have laid out the podcast a bit different. I started the podcast with the Title to let people know what they are listening to. I find myself listening to a series of "new" podcasts and knowing at the start what I'm listening to allows me to settle in and switch my listening mood.
The episode is mp4 through I-tunes and Libsyn and mp3 at the website. The only real difference is that the mp4 version has the chapter headings and navigation included with them. The story and info is the same.
The cover art for this episode was provided by Susan Van Camp.

The Interlude (#4) is on the website
I created this interlude because I discovered that I simply did not have enough time to keep up with the podcast stories.
Honestly, I have to pull time from my other projects to create these stories. That means that my incoming money goes down. I really like doing these and I'm hoping that over the long haul that you listeners will like these stories enough to support me with donations. We shall see.
I don't have a real staff for doing this. Gregg is volunteering his talents for the sound effects and music and Susan is doing some very useful critical commentary, but the time basically comes from me.
I am currently working on the first real season and I've laid out a set of 12 shows to do. So I will have a story arch that carries through them all. Wish me luck!

Third Episode up at the website
I am setting down and listening carefully to each episode that I have done and trying to learn from each. On top of that it puts out an mp3 version that some people like better. It also gives me a chance on the webpage to give a bit of a plug to some interesting podcasts and books that I've stumbled across in my "studies".
I am working at doing an improved season one, but the attempt to "think" things through is slowing me down. Ah well.....

New Series in the works,
I am in the process of creating three new Mark's Mysteries Podcasts. They are a single story so I want to complete them all and release them in a three week period as a short series.
I just wanted to let people know that these are coming along.
Right now I'm listening to some of the old Philip Marlowe OTR shows I got from archive.org. Go over and take a look. A lot of good entertainment is out there for the taking.
I also recommend that you take a listen to Wormwood. The first couple of shows are a bit slow, but keep going, you will not regret it!
